Meet Georgina Castellucci of Boston lifestyle blog:”A Noted Life”

Today we’d like to introduce you to Georgina Castellucci.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Georgina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my lifestyle blog over nine years ago, anonymously, on a snow day during undergrad. The premise was just to see what people thought of my writing but within a safe space.

After about six months I began to venture out to local blogging events (a major feat for an introvert like myself). Soon after, I included one of the photos from the event that had myself and several other bloggers in it, in a blog post. I saw my traffic and engagement lift dramatically enough that I wondered if I should take the leap and put my name and face behind my website.

I hired a designer, purchased my domain, and created an editorial calendar so my meager following would know what to expect on my site each day. Within several months my readership grew and I received my first brand partnership.

My site has gone through many iterations (some so cringeworthy I prefer to forget) but I am always proud of the risks I have taken, and the connections and experiences that have come from that initial leap.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course not. My life has been a series of mistakes and embarrassing experiences but I have learned to take each in stride with as much grace as I can muster.

Two things I have struggled with lately are how personal I should get on my platforms and deciding when to disconnect.

As a blogger, it can be hard to not always be “on.” As a viewer (as I myself follow a number of mainly UK based bloggers) – it is so fun to see someone’s daily life depicted in stories and static images, no matter how carefully curated.

All of that time and energy spent documenting each moment can take a toll and I have made it this year’s goal to set aside time regularly to shut off and be sure to just enjoy wherever I am, what I am doing, and the people I am with.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Boston lifestyle blog: “A Noted Life” – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
There are two parts to this as my blog (A Noted Life) is a small business that focuses on the moments of my life I consider worth documenting and sharing.

Much of that is food and experience based, but beauty, wellness, entertaining, and creating a home that is a haven are also major areas of focus.

One of my proudest moments that I experienced due to my blog, was being asked by MasterCard to fly down to David Ortiz’s final Spring Training, and interview him for their upcoming Priceless Boston campaign. I remember I did not even check in with my then boss, just said yes and prayed I could make it all happen. Of course I did and JetBlue flew me down as I practiced my questions over and over as to not have a paper or iPad in front of me (I am a PROFESSIONAL okay!?)

In my daily life, I focus on content and influencer marketing at Mavrck as their Senior Influencer Marketing Operations Manager. So…I do what I love for a living for some of the most incredible brands in the world. I joined the Mavrck team just two months ago and have fallen in love with the team (okay I actually fell for them during my series of interviews), their drive, and the once in a lifetime chance I have been provided to do something that does not feel like work.

Mavrck cares deeply about their employees and their culture, and providing the best technology in the industry (and I have had to demo and analyze them all). Here I have found a home and you most likely see me chronicling my daily life in the office, my coworker’s antics, and of course our impossibly adorable office dogs on my Instagram stories.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
This year my main focus is my wedding! My best friend, fellow blogger, and now fiancé Dan Whalen of The Food in My Beard proposed in November 2017 and we are to be wed in October here in Boston.

We (and our lovely wedding planner Kristen) have worked hard to create as many personalized, special details and moments for our friends and family.

I am so excited for that entire weekend, and am so grateful to everyone that has worked to help create a memorable experience for everyone.
