Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Perez.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My story began when I was in high school. I got my cosmetology license and fell in love with makeup in the 8th grade. After high school I got my esthetician license. It was then I knew I could make a career out of what I love. Makeup isn’t just a job for me, it’s a passion and a love. I love putting my makeup on every single day and getting this amazing boost of confidence and I love bringing that to each and every one of my clients. Day to day I work my full-time job as an esthetician in Boston, I have been a freelance makeup artist for a few years now. and this is just the beginning for me, my goal and my future is to grow my business into a full-time career.
Please tell us about your art.
My work is I’m a free-lance makeup artist. That’s right I’m freelance so I come to YOU. Which is so beneficial. I specialize in prom and bridal makeup. Soft glam to full on smokey eye. I am your girl. What I think sets me apart from others is I’m younger. I always am following the trends. I obsess over new makeup and always trying the latest things. Makeup is a passion not just a job so the love I put into my work with my clients really show, and they feel that. I’m more of an outgoing personality so I always makeup sure to have a few laughs with my clients.
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
An ideal mentor is someone who is driven and passionate about what you’re passionate about. A lead, a guide, someone who is doing what you want to do.
