Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruby Phan.
Ruby, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been working as a nail technician for over 10 years now and fully licensed as Cosmetologist. It has always been one of my dreams of own my own salon and I was able to get that opportunity in the summer of 2016. Tiffany, the other manager reached out to me to about a possible salon location and it happened to be in South Boston. Since last summer, we have been working with tremendous effort to make D Luxe Nail Bar what we envisioned it to be.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We have had many obstacles with the building of the salon such as delays with our contractor and broken sinks that had to be reordered. One of our problems was trying to find the 6th chair for our nail bar and we had to go searching in Boston and beyond to find what we needed. Getting all the necessary paperwork was also a headache and there one time we forgot to fill out the last page of an application. Overall, this was a great learning experience and will be beneficial when we open other locations.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about D Luxe Nail Bar – what should we know?
The new salon in South Boston, D LUXE NAIL BAR will guarantee quality and professionalism to all of our customers are committed to making our devoted customers look stunning and feel their best. Contact us and see what our team of qualified professionals have to offer you today!
By 2018, every salon in Boston must have a state of the art ventilation system for the safety of customers. We are already equipped with this and our local competition has yet to comply with this requirement
We have a state of the art Steri-Dent Dry Heat Sterilizer, which is FDA registered and UL listed to sterilize all of our equipment.
We take much pride in keeping our salon clean and ensuring our customers are happy.
We are currently offering a special service at our salon and it is called dipping powder. Our customers will get stronger, lightweight and natural long-lasting nails that does damage the nail bed. One of our brands, Kiara Sky, states that their dip powder is formulated without harsh chemicals and with added vitamins and calcium to strengthen natural nails.
We are the home of the “dip”. We do the dip and is the new trend. The only catch is that not everyone can do it. The dipping requires training and experience beforehand. So please see Ruby if your are interested in the dip.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband, Phu Pham designed the logo, business cards and marketing of D Luxe Nail Bar. Tiffany has also help support build the salon and has spent many hours waiting in the licensing offices for our permits. Their commitment to the business directed contributed to the success of the salon.
