Meet Trailblazer Heather Wood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Wood.

Heather, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up as an incredibly intuitive and empathic kid. I realized from an early age that being intuitive was a misunderstood and feared concept. It made me feel different, wrong, bad and like I didn’t fit in anywhere. I have always felt like a square peg trying to fit in to a round hole. I spent most of my life trying to hide who I am, always showing up as what I thought other people wanted me to be. It was exhausting, draining and I was incredibly unhappy.

After the birth of my second son, I had this moment when I looked over at my two young babies and realized the disservice I was doing them. I had created a life of lack for them. Lack of money, lack of passion, lack of ambition, lack of dream chasing, lack of authenticity… I didn’t want to be that kind of example for them. I knew in my heart that I had big things to do in this life, I just had to find my voice.

Sometimes, it takes hitting the bottom of the pit to surrender those fears that are controlling you. I had let insecurity and fear of rejection rule my entire life. Everything I was doing was from a place of fear, my ego was running the show. I was ready to learn about this powerful intuition of mine and not just use it, show people it, and maybe even give them permission to use theirs. I set out to start changing the way people see intuition. It’s thought of as hocus pocus or trickery. It’s considered silly or fraudulent. People hear the word intuition and imagine a fortune teller who’s trying to trick you out of another $40. But intuition is not that. Intuition is your ability to feel. It’s your inner compass, your guide to fulfillment and love.

We live in a world where the only ego is valued. Ego is fear based and always worried about your safety. It’s logic and doing what is accepted by the masses. It has its place in your life, you need it, but you don’t need ruling everything. Our society celebrates ego and rolls its eyes at intuition. As a result, we have a lot of people living “safe” lives but not enough people living fulfilled, happy, exciting lives. If you think of your life as a cup, ask yourself, are you spending all your energy protecting an empty cup?

This work is my passion! Every day, I get to help people find their authentic lights and shine them into the world. I help them move past their fears and I bring them into the driver’s seat of their own lives. I help them heal their pasts, inspire their presents and design their futures. What could possibly be more exciting than that! It’s beautiful to get to help other people with the very thing that you struggled with for so long. Isn’t it amazing how the Universe works? Your struggle is your muse. That’s so wild to me!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but the road isn’t supposed to be smooth. Those obstacles in our way are teachers. I think that my greatest successes have come out of my biggest failures and struggles. My advice, first off, is to rework the way you see failure. Failure isn’t the Universe telling you to stop, it’s the Universe helping you learn something that you need for the next leg of the journey. Second, stay true to who you are, even when other people don’t like it. My path is one that tends to rattle a lot of cages. If you are called to be a change maker in this world, you’ll face a lot of resistance. Stay true to what ‘s in your heart. Let your authentic light shine and the right people will find you.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Embody Love – what should we know?
I specialize in helping people get Unstuck. When our egos are in charge, we live in a place of fear and stagnancy. I don’t think there’s a word for how it feels to watch someone get out of the cage they are in. I consider it such a gift to be there to coach people towards that freedom. Whatever your next level is… more money, dream job or business, love, children, etc. etc… I want to help you get it.

I do this in lots of ways! I do private and group coaching and I’m a speaker. I love connecting with people in person, one on one, in groups or crowds or on social media. I’m proud of all the facets of my business but right now I’m feeling the proudest of the public speaking. I love doing it so much and I was built for it… which is so crazy because if I told my younger self that I would be telling large crowds of people how intuitive I am and also helping them understand their intuition and ego better… I would have never believed it!

What sets me apart is that I’m incredibly connected to the people I serve. I answer every email, every private message myself. I want to be accessible. There’s this strange model in the self-help industry of charging huge amounts of money and being mysterious and unreachable. I think we need to change that. I strive to be present, seen, authentic and to make my services within reach for people.

Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
Oh my, how I love all of these things. I’m always reading at least 3 books at a time, I love podcasts and I’m working on creating my own! I love anything Tony Robbins does and read and listen to all things Hay House. I love listening to Ted Talks and any stories where people find their strength in their struggle and then turn around and help other people with what they’ve learned.

Why would you celebrate this person? She charges people $100 to “communicate” with their dead relatives. We should believe she has this ability because she’s not dressed like a gypsy? Honestly people. She is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She’s a grief vampire. If you’re stuck in a rut, or having trouble dealing with the loss of a loved one, seek help from a qualified, licensed councilor or therapist. Don’t hand over your money to this fraud. She is nauseating.
