Today we’d like to introduce you to Quinn Fuller.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Growing up I was always that creative child I always found crafting, drawing but many times I was found dancing. I was a dancer for as long as I can remember that was all I ever wanted to be. As I became older I realized that this was the way I not only found myself it’s the way I expressed myself. My dancing took me to college, NYC as well as Los Angeles and Martha’s Vineyard for many years I traveled performing in various dance companies. I was always a dancer and I never thought my profession would ever change. It wasn’t until I had my daughter I even picked up a camera for the first time with any intent. When I did it was just for me I wanted to capture it all her smiles, first steps, her baby features as they changed from one month to the next. I realized how fast life goes and how much children change in the blink of an eye. I was no longer was performing on stage and teaching dance wasn’t fully fulling my creative outlet. The camera became that thing that did! I used all of my free time to learn and the more I learned the more I realized that this was my calling. I am so blessed that it has I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my days then cuddling sleepy babies, capturing little features that will change over time and moments that families will cherish forever as their children grow.
Please tell us about your art.
I believe I am a storyteller with a camera who specializes in baby & family photography. Capturing the love of a young new family brings me the most joy! I love working with families to capture all of the milestones from Belly Bumps all the way One Year Sessions. Much of my work is done in the studio however when the weather gets warm capturing the light with emotion of a family gives me the greatest pleasure.
I was captivated by the miracle of new life, and the magic of each moment that is so fleeting and precious. I remember how I felt when my children were born. How I wanted to capture everything about them and bottle it all up because they would change so quickly. I would spend my days just holding them and staring at their perfect little faces, hardly believing that I could be so blessed to have such a perfect angel to take care of. It is those feelings and emotions that I am passionate about capturing for my clients. I love everything about babies. Their little noises, the flaky baby skin, cute tiny features, perfect fingers and toes, and how they curl their legs up. I love that I can preserve those memories for my clients. I believe that babies are perfect just as they are and that we don’t need a lot of props to distract from that beauty. With the use of neutral tones, rustic and antique props I create timeless works of art that will forever be treasured as they grow.
When it comes to my Family Portrait sessions I want to capture your love, personalities and real-life moments. During our sessions it’s all about letting go and being who you are while I capture those amazing snuggles, playful moments and fun! These sessions are very relaxed which let me capture moments that you warm your heart when you look back over the years and I can say remember when.
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I feel like the conditions for artist today has been an easier with the use of social media I am able to display my work on an everyday basis with friends, family, followers and many times potential clients. Instagram and Facebook have been an amazing platform to help me get my work out there! I am able to reach so many more people and we all know how much word of mouth helps small businesses grow and thrive. Also, with the use of social media I have met so many amazing photographer friends near and far. We help each other with constructive criticism, let you know you’re not alone during the late-night editing marathons.
Cities like ours I believe can hold more social events which could help engage all artist to come together and connect. I always believe that you have something to give someone and many times they have something to offer you as well. It would be amazing to have a larger group of artists come together and collaborate with unique ideas.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I try to post on Instagram and Facebook on a daily basis as well as use our Instagram story for behind the scenes, to show upcoming sets or the most adorable sleepy babies.
