Today we’d like to introduce you to David Lorenzi.
Thanks for sharing your story with us David. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I decided at a young age that I wanted to be a CPA so I went to Bentley University and obtained my BS in Accounting in 1985. After spending about 8 years at a few CPA firms, I found a home at Paresky Flitt & Company, LLP in 1993. I became a partner through hard work, dedication and the mentoring of our founding partners, Lee Paresky and Howard Flitt. Over the years, through hard work, dedication and good fortune we built the company into a 2 office 25 person firm. Our strength truly is the quality of the people on our team.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a relatively smooth road. Although, in public accounting, things are not often smooth. We have been able to grow every year. One thing that helps make things smooth is the continuity of our team. We rarely have a CPA decide to leave our firm for another public accounting firm.
Please tell us about Paresky Flitt & Company, LLP.
We are a small business tax and accounting firm. Our specialty is working with business owners and high net worth individuals. We represent clients in a variety of industries, from manufacturing to medical and professional services, wholesalers, retailers and more. We also represent not for profit businesses and we audit employee benefit plans. Outside of the tax, audit and accounting realm we perform business valuations and we are peer reviewers for other CPA firms.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have found Paresky Flitt sooner in my career! This is truly my home and although I spent time with other firms, and gained great experience, PFC is where I really learned about the business of public accounting.
