Today we’d like to introduce you to Franchesca Nival.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, it seems to me that I needed to go through some tough times in order to get to where I am today. I went through a few personal things that led me to realize that I needed to go after what made me happy, and in the process I wanted to make sure I was helping others as well. It all started off as a hobby. I started mentoring a few teens that had also gone through some personal matters, and were also aspiring to be in the modeling and acting industry. It became much more than teaching them how to pose, catwalk, or how to switch into different acting roles. It became a life style. I decided that I would dedicate my time to make sure these kids were able to be prepared to obtain the dream jobs they wanted, as well as had a friend/ older sister/teacher/mentor/believer to go to. Needless to say without God in my life I wouldn’t have been able to help these kids at all. So being a believer helped me to help them in a way that I wouldn’t have ever imagined I was capable of. I started my academy to help others obtain the help and push that I didn’t have when I was younger.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been smooth. There have been days where I wanted to give up, but then I realized why I was doing it. I’m not doing this for me, I’m doing this for those kids out there that need me, because I needed someone when I was their age to guide me the right way in this industry.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Franchesca Talent Academy “FTA” – what should we know?
At FTA we work on self-esteem, obtaining a positive outlook on life, promoting good grades, and health. We work on runway, poses, portfolio preparation, branding, skin care, fitness, Acting, auditions, and casting calls, last but not least Agency &Talent bookings. I am extremely proud of everyone in my school! I started my school 7 months ago with only 2 kids. I am proud to say that I now have the honor of training over 15 girls and guys, one of them whom were recently signed to a professional Model &Acting agency “Model Club Inc.” in Boston, MA! It made me feel extremely happy to know that I wasn’t doing what this in vain. I helped a 14 year old girl that believed and trusted in me achieves her dream, and it still gets me teary eyed. I can’t thank her, and parents enough for allowing me to guide and make this possible. She is my first success story that was signed, but has many successes such as improvement of self-esteem, and confidence as well! There are many more students from my academy that I will be taking to modeling/Acting agencies in hopes of having the same outcomes! Seeing them live their dreams is what I do this for.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Perseverance is very important; I believe that if you give up easily you can’t do what I’m doing. To be honest you can’t do anything if you don’t have perseverance. You will have failures, but those will push you to do better, and be better!
