Today we’d like to introduce you to Charla Jones.
Charla, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story begins with a passion for the transformative power of beauty, culture and creativity, inspired by the women who cared for me and the ways they embraced and used their creativity.
From my maternal grandmother’s Midwestern speakeasy where jazz and blues greats like B.B. King played for glamorous crowds, to my stylish, world-traveling aunt Eugenia for whom Eu2Be is named, I come from a long line of revolutionaries — culture, style and potion makers who took creativity and beauty into their own hands.
During my career building a creative marketing agency in Boston and Paris, I experienced how the focused attention of the creative process yields beautiful results.
And this is the revolutionary idea behind creating Eu2Be, formulated with rare blends of up to 15 luxurious skin-conditioning oils, a world of cultural traditions in every touch — and absolutely nothing superficial.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’m not sure anyone has a smooth road when it comes to being an entrepreneur.
As a founder, I wear many hats, from designing product formulas to creating Eu2Be content, photography and events and strategizing sales and marketing for Eu2Be.
With so many interests competing for today’s consumer’s attention, it’s a herculean effort to cut through the mass claims and magical thinking around skin care products.
But the beauty industry has recently declared skin care for the body to be the new white space, and I am excited to make the most of the beauty conversations focused on the body and wellness.
Please tell us about Eu2Be.
We’re experiencing an award-winning streak of three years in which Eu2Be has garnered “best of” awards from Indie Beauty Expo, Cosmoprof and The Improper Bostonian.
I’m proud of many things really but I am most proud that our “Be the guardian” credo has caught the attention of an amazing following of highly discerning, health-minded and passionately fearless people who care about the skin they live in, not just the face they present to the public.
The products are beloved by some of the most creative people making art today and they’re changing the way people think about and engage their skin care routine.
Among the huge constellation of natural skin care products, few are crafted from unique or effective formulas, designed to deliver what your body craves as Eu2Be is. Additionally, feel and function of our products enable beauty ‘2Be’ so much more than glamour—and using your daily skin care routine as a creative force for well-being—is something that sets Eu2Be apart from the rest.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Despite the proliferation of skin care brands, influencers and platforms, the beauty industry is quite conservative, risk adverse and tribal/insular. So I would have networked the network sooner and with more urgency.
