Today we’d like to introduce you to Constantina.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was raised in Greece and came to Boston with very little to my name. I used to get up at 3:30 in the morning to go work at a deli. I saved all my money just to afford to go to get a license as a hair stylist. I viewed this as my way up. I owe a lot to my Godparents who always believed in me and made me believe in myself. We all need people to support us.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Success is one part skill and two parts ignoring people who say no. We all work hard and try to build a reputation for excellence. I hope that my best advertisements are the thousands of people whom, over the past 10 years, I have had the pleasure to work with. I love people who love their hair!
Viselli Salon – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I have worked at salons throughout Boston, but I have been most fulfilled at Viselli Salon. The operation is completely professional and I have an opportunity to constantly learn. I specialize in color, extensions, keratin treatments, bridal hair and men’s cuts. The key to client satisfaction is listening.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moments come when a client returns because they like what I have done. Compliments right after a cut are very nice to hear, but whether a client is truly satisfied can only be known if they come back next time. I know that my clients have a choice in hair stylist. For me, every day is an opportunity to generate a long-term satisfied client.
