Thanks for sharing your story with us Pete. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started fishing when I was 3 in Medford where I grew up my uncle Nino would take me with him to local ponds and rivers. For sunfish perch and trout got hooked on fishing right away As I grew so did my passion I would fish he ocean for flounder cod stripers bluefish out of Boston harbor. In 1992 I opened up fishing finatics.in Everett and I have been here helping people catch fish for 25 years
Has it been a smooth road?
It was tough in the beginning. I couldn’t afford to buy a lot of stock but I had the best and freshest bait, the biggest sea worms and enough gear to cover the basic needs of my customers. Also it was a sacrifice working 16 hours a day 7 days a week I didn’t get to spend quality time with my young daughters.

Another item you can only get here is the zobo flounder rig it is a killer on flounder scup seabass tautog. I offer a guide service on customer’s boats which is very popular and informative. I apply bait gear and 50 years of experience in a 7 hour trip. Many of my students are charter captains now and they are part of my network on the water for up to date fishing reports. And lastly I run a charter operation in the winter in the Galapagos Islands for the last 12 years we catch blue black striped marlin tuna wahoo groupers one of my most fishing buddies is. Former red sox hall of famer Wade Boggs.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love all the sports teams. Bruins patriots etc the food the history that goes back all the way to Paul revere mostly I love Boston harbor and islands the place is a gem and is my summer office we have the best winter flounder fishing anywhere offshore in well as fantastic striped bass and blue fish in the summer. Offshore haddock redfish cusk shark and giant Bluefin tuna abound. What I dislike is not to be able to fish for the sacred cod. The regulations have made it unlawful to keep any of these important and tasty fish. Hopefully the fisheries experts will let us continue to take a couple of Boston scrod for dinner.
