Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Marie Campo.
Lisa Marie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a Boston girl with Florida’s heart!
I’m a wife, a mom of two amazing kids and a daughter. I began my career in finance 13 years ago. I have an amazing family that has supported my career every step of the way. Not always an easy task, but they always had my back!
I work for an amazing local community bank now and I am very happy!
Family is everything, so if I’m not working, we’re together. I love the beach almost as much as I love my family. So, when the sun comes out, that’s where you’ll find me!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Wow, that’s a loaded question.
Never a smooth road, that would be too easy!
At one point in my career, I had one of the best leaders, mentors I could have ever asked for. This piece of advice stays true regardless of what you’re doing.
“You’re here for a reason, show them what you’re made of. Don’t let them forget your name.”
My advice to any young women trying to make her mark in the world today, Stay true to yourself, your beliefs and your passions, that will separate and distinguish you from the rest. They won;t forget your name!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lowell Five Bank – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Banking came to me in 2005. My background was sales, relationship selling at the time and I had never even been a teller in school, so why they had the interest, to begin with, was beyond me. Little did I know, this would change my career path, my network and open doors to so many amazing opportunities. I went from a Branch Manager to Client Manager on the Wealth side of the house and I loved every second. I’ve always had a passion for helping people and I felt like I was part of something so much bigger than “banking.” We were helping people plan their futures, purchase their first home, send their children to college and some even purchase their first ever vacation or investment property. But, the most rewarding part of my career came in 2013 when I was aligned with a non-profit that served local children most of which were underprivileged girls. The highlight of my career in fact. Youth Empowerhouse, formerly known as Girls Inc of Greater Haverhill, has impacted my life in so many ways. Being a manager for a larger bank at the time, allowed me the opportunity to take 18 of these amazing little munchkins to their first ever Celtics game, which then became our annual outing. Being involved with this organization and the community is an honor. Fast forward to today, where I am now in a local bank with amazing community connection, I still serve as board treasurer and I love that. But, I want more! I love the organization and I would love to be an even louder voice on their behalf. Stay tuned, I’m working on it!
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
OMG! I have so many books downloaded to my phone right now. I love anything Iyanla Van Zant, I’m trying to read Medical Medium by Anthony William. I also battle UC and his theory is we can heal ourselves with nutrition. Here’s to hoping!
