Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Ahronian.
Mark, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started part time in 1987 working on Sundays as I worked for someone else six days a week. I did that for three years starting full time during a recession in 1990. It was a struggle, but I was determined! It took a while to establish a reputation of excellence, but I constantly worked to make Ahronian Landscaping Unique.
I have been in business now for thirty one years! I bring in interns every year bringing them into the fold. Some have become stars in my company, and bring new ways of doing things that have kept us up to date in the 21st century with computerized designing. We are a design build company with thirty employees during the season that specializes in solving customers landscaping challenges with creative solutions and environmental friendly design problem solving. We have won many awards at the Boston flower show.
Has it been a smooth road?
The recessions during the way have each been challenging for a small business. We often get effected when other industries have issues. Growing pains and financing during recessions have also been an issue. Small businesses often learn as they grow lifelong lessons.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Ahronian Landscaping & Design story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a custom design build company specializing in customer satisfaction with Landscaping problem solving techniques incorporating years of experience with several Massachusetts certified horticulturists on staff. We have two masonry crews, Planting crews, pruning, maintenance etc.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I think being a complete Landscaping services company is critical for the future. Customers want to make one call and have their problems solved creatively.
