Meet Colin Comee of Top Floor Fitness in Seaport and Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colin Comee.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Colin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After graduating with a degree in Sports Management, I brought my training philosophy to Boston. I started out at Boston Sports Clubs and quickly became one of the most in-demand trainers based on my ability to build workout programs that achieve amazing results in a time efficient manner. After realizing that there was way to make fitness more accessible and enjoyable to clients, I decided to provide my services at my clients’ home gyms and workplaces. I opened Top Floor Fitness at The Devonshire, offering my expertise in management, training, group exercise classes and other luxury fitness amenities. My training philosophy has been very well received, and after I established my business at The Devonshire, I was approached to bring my fitness program to corporate environments including Nuance Technologies. Since it has always been my goal to make fitness accessible, I’ve also partnered with TrainWithMe Technologies to bring my training expertise to a larger audience. TrainWithMe offers clients the opportunity to develop a meaningful relationship with a trainer and get comprehensive, personalized workouts anyplace, anytime at a price they can afford. The model fits in with my philosophy that trainers can make results-oriented fitness programs accessible, engaging and affordable, and the technology has been very effective and well received.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the biggest challenges that fitness professionals have faced over the years is that the industry is always changing. To be successful, fitness companies need to remain actively motivated to make change in their clients’ lives. I’ve always believed the secret to success in health and wellness is based on building routines that fit into our daily home and work routines, so I am focused on providing sustainable, effective programs that cater to busy people that don’t have much time to stay active.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in a small coastal town called Phippsburg in southern Maine. I was always active and loved to be outdoors as much as possible. I would say that my favorite interests growing up were sports, lifting, skiing/snowmobiling and fishing.
