Meet Avi Meyers, Matt Girard, and Brandon Erdos of The Maxims in Allston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Avi Meyers, Matt Girard, and Brandon Erdos.

Avi, Matt, and Brandon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The band started in 2016. We were all involved in the local music scene, and met through various gigs and a love for rock n’ roll. We released our debut EP in June 2017, and have been gigging consistently from New England down to New York City. Recently we hit the studio to begin work on a new album.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Is there such a thing as a smooth road for a rock n’ roll band? In all seriousness, we have faced the normal challenges you might expect trying to get our music heard and build a following: ignored e-mails, cancelled gigs, scheduling problems, trying to write the right tune. But the grind makes it that much sweeter when we can finally hit the stage.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We’re a 3-piece grungy rock n’ roll band based out of Boston, MA. Our influences range anywhere from The Stooges to the Black Keys. At our shows, we want you to party, dance, and have a good time. We pride ourselves on really bringing the energy when we play live. That’s what it’s about for us, connecting with fans and giving them a kickass time, so all of us can forget about the BS for a while and do what we’re meant to do here: enjoy ourselves!

You can catch us playing around the Boston area at venues such as Brighton Music Hall, The Middle East, Great Scott, and Opus up in Salem. Our music is available on Spotify, Apple Music, or wherever it is you stream.

What were you like growing up?
We all grew up in different parts of the east coast, but eventually found our way to Boston through a common love for all kinds of music.
