Meet Ashley Diabo of Ashley Diabo Photography in Somerville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Diabo.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ashley. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I officially launched Ashley Diabo Photography a few weeks ago, however, it was founded in early 2016. It started out as fun for me and eventually became a hobby; then a talent. Here I am 7 years later, a nanny, and I’ve started mixing my photography with nannying – which has been an amazing experience.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
So far, it’s been a pretty smooth road – aside from the cost of starting a business. I haven’t been able to afford a studio yet, so I currently travel to my clients. I will be using the money from future photoshoots to expand to a studio.

Ashley Diabo Photography is a small business that travels to you. Ashley specializes in candid and landscape photography. Ashley also does family portraits, portraits, couples, engagements, boudoir, baby announcements, maternity, baby showers, newborn/babies, kids, sweet 16’s, prom and graduations. She has also done some friend photoshoots. Not too long after she launched ADP, She added a “sidekick”, Cristina.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was just a shy girl. I laid low most of the time and didn’t like being in the center of attention. I would take photos and develop them and hang them around my room or put them in my school locker for decoration. Most people would walk by and say, “Oh my god! Did you take these?!” and I’d say “yes” and they’d say “I didn’t know you were that talented”. My work got recognized and I later became “the girl with the camera” which was great!

• Travel
• Basic props
• Copies of all photos in either a CD form, USB, or on downloaded from my website
• A basic package of prints
• 5-7 edited photos – retouching, blurred background, whiter teeth, etc.
