Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Lydon.
Jennifer, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I’ve always known I’d be a hairstylist. I have been working in salons since I was 16. I graduated highschool.in May and was in Hair school in June. I started off. On Newbury street popped around the city and suburbs until I found my fit in 2003 I hit JP and stayed.
In 2010 opened my own salon, Q SALON&SPA closed a few years. Later due to a parent’s illness so when my dear friend Mel was opening Studio M in Roslindale I jumped at the opportunity.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
It’s always been my need to have someone’s personality to shine through their style, individuality ever so slight is key cookie cutter style.is not for me
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
I’ve never found that funding the right salon for your personality however is the basis for a lucrative and long-lived career.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
I was a great platform artist in the past for several brands and featured in Essence magazine.
