Today we’d like to introduce you to Cansu Tacettin.
Cansu, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I do love taking photos. I can’t really say at what age this passion has started but I can exactly tell that since my middle school years, I was the girl who was so into taking photos. I’ve raised in Turkey and came to Boston for college. Currently majoring in Biochemistry at Northeastern University.
Since my freshman year at college, I met a lot of people who were doing part-time modeling or at least were signed up for a modeling agency. They told me that I should give it a shot. Finally last year, I’ve been to an agency and they told me exactly what I expected. “You are an international student, so, unfortunately, we can’t hire you as a model even though how much we would love to, it would not be legal”.
That was very disappointing news for me. Since then, I’ve made up my mind and followed up my passion to at least try to take great pictures of myself in different places in Boston. Recently, I’ve started my own fashion blog on Instagram (_.cansu__) This is a great honor that one of my photos got your attention and you’ve published it!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely wasn’t an easy decision for me! As I’ve mentioned my major is pretty challenging and I was one of the geeks who could spend the whole day and night in the library doing nothing but only studying. I’ve realized no one should devote their whole time to only doing one thing even though if it is their passion.
A person should have some hobbies that can relax their mind and keep them busy when they need. I really love my major! However, I’ve decided to hold on to a hobby that I believe that I’ve been having inside me for a very long time. As long as I manage my time well, everything goes perfectly and believe me it is definitely so so much healthier!

Your questions are mostly about my business/company. However, mine is more like finding my own being. As an international college student who is far far away from parents, I can tell that I need to learn how to raise myself. Actually, the most important part is how WELL will I raise myself? I assume this fashion blog started contributing a lot to my life.
I have a chance to communicate with a lot of bloggers and have a chance to explore more places in Boston. I’m really proud because this was on my mind for a very long time but was never this brave enough to take a step! Sometimes even a step is something for success. I’m not only talking about my hobby, I’m also talking about my approach to overcome any set goals in my life!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
For now, I would like to go on slowly to see my potential but in general, I would like to grow bigger on social media as a blogger. So as a person even based on my major, you can tell that I’m a person who really loves helping people. In my field, it’s helping patients with my researches but in this field as a blogger.
I would like to do more reviews to help people to understand a real quality of products. Frankly, fingers are crossed for bigger chances! I just think that if you love what you are doing, you would definitely get at least some interest of people which would lead you to success!
