Meet Trailblazer Kaylin Boileau

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylin Boileau.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began The Happy Hungry Yogi, as a means of sharing my healthy recipes with others. Just prior, I had begun to experiment with existing recipes and foods I loved in order to transform them to be gluten-free, Paleo and vegan. when the realization the impact food really could have on my over all well-being. Having once dealt with health issues of my own, I wanted to be able to make the most out of what I put into my body. My goal was to learn to heal myself from the inside out while still enjoying what I ate. Even though I had always led a healthy lifestyle through fitness I knew there was no better completion of the puzzle than with food. Being able to share my knowledge and passion for a healthy lifestyle drives me to continue to do what I do. Eating well can be as simple as just a few ingredients, take minimal time and really can lead you to your happiest life.

Since, The Happy Hungry Yogi has expanded to include fitness, yoga and tips and tools for making the most out of your healthy life!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say beginning this venture was easy. Like many things, often times you have to start from the bottom. It can be challenging to build a brand via the internet. As large and popular as it is it’s easy to become lost in the wide world of social media. However, I never went into it trying or hoping to be “popular”. I began blogging solely because it made me happy. I think it’s important to embark upon the things you’re passionate about and the passion is what makes you successful. It’s not the number of followers, the money, the fame, etc. because when there’s passion there’s happiness and I believe that’s what’s important. I’ve been fortunate that my passion for doing what I do has made me push myself in various ways which I believe has created success beyond what I had imagined. So, I would tell anyone considering a venture such as this that if it’s something you truly love… absolutely go for it!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Happy Hungry Yogi – what should we know?
As I mentioned, I have a website that focuses on living a healthy lifestyle through food and fitness. Though there are many similar blogs out there today I believe that my passion for what I do and makes The Happy Hungry Yogi unique. My blend of healthy, simple recipes and mommy and baby workouts show followers living a healthy, happy life can be easy with some basic (and fun) ideas. I also offer a mommy and baby fitness class called Baby Steps in Needham, MA which incorporates the workouts posted on my blog as well as additional ones. It’s a lot of fun to take what I do online out into the real world!

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Go for it! Believe in your abilities, believe you can do anything you set your mind to and don’t let anyone discourage you from doing what you’re passionate about. The world we live in, with social media being such a huge part of it, can be impactful and not always in a positive way, so don’t let the words or opinions of others persuade you to doubt yourself.
