Today we’d like to introduce you to J.Q. Louise.
J.Q., please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
A few years ago, I started my food and travel Instagram account, @jqlouise and now, I have nearly 50,000 followers and I have my first book coming out this spring called Boston Food Crawls.
It has been an exciting journey and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I was always that girl taking pictures of her food and it’s so exciting to see that passion turn into a true career. Having contributed to Teen Vogue, NESN Tv, the Food Network Snapchat and Style Me Pretty, it is just the best feeling to see my words and pictures making an impact on people’s lives. And when I see people engaging with my account, it makes me feel so good that I brighten people’s day with my images.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a blog, like starting any business is never easy. It takes dedication, hard work and perseverance. I did not get my 47,000+ followers overnight, they took years of hard work and consistency posting, editing and shooting. So if you are passionate about something, work at it every day!
what should we know about J.Q. Louise? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As a luxury food and travel writer, photographer and blogger, I specialize in reviewing restaurants and travel experience, so I can relay my recommendations to my audience. I love showing my audience all the hidden gems that I find so that they can truly travel the world in style.
My upcoming book, Boston Food Crawls, is filled with a lifetime of Bostonian food wisdom. I want people to sip and taste their way through Boston.
Boston Food Crawls is an exciting culinary tour through this historic yet modern city. Tap into the unique vibes and flavors of neighborhood restaurants and bars. Hit the Theater District for dinner and a show. Just in town for the weekend? Take the classy but sassy crawl through the Back Bay. Lifelong Bostonians will love the Classic Chowder Crawl (did your favorite make the list?) and everyone will find something new on the bonus rooftop crawl. Put on your walking shoes and your stretchy pants and dig into the Hub one dish at a time.
It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
I love reading other travel blogs, some of my favorites are: The Blonde Abroad and Gypsy Lust. I also devour articles from Eater and Thrillist.
