Jade, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Started my Career in Minneapolis, MN. I recently moved to Boston in May 2017. I’ve been able to grow my business by using Instagram and have the best support system from my Salon Joi Salon.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a smooth transition and I have been able to build my clientele pretty quick.
colour.jade – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I work at Joi Salon as a hairstylist. I specialize in color but specifically balayage, also known as hair painting. I am most proud of the quality of my work, which also sets me apart from other hairstylists. When you come and sit in my chair, you’re not just getting your hair done, you’re changing your life. It’s an experience.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment was last year. A couple months after moving here, I was nominated for The Behind The Chair Awards. Behind the Chair is one of the biggest/best in the business. It’s basically the Grammys, but for hair. It is one of my biggest accomplishments and looks forward to hopefully being nominated again this year.
