Meet Jacqueline Guelli of JAX Skincare

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Guelli.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The beauty industry and entrepreneurship has always been a passion of mine. JAX was a dream that came to surface this past year. I started my career in skincare at age 18. To me, it was a no-brainer. I always knew I would either end up in either the fashion or beauty industry. My mother is an esthetician, and my sister a hairdresser and business owner. I admire both of them and their success and was inspired to open my own business.

I started mixing my own “potions” about a year ago. I found the perfect mixture for my own skin and thought if it helped my skin so much, it would help others too. I wanted the line to be completely non-toxic to take a stand and bring more awareness to the clean beauty industry. It is so important to me to use products that are actually good for you, while not compromising performance.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One thing I’ve learned during this process is if you want something done, you have to do it yourself!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with JAX Skincare – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
JAX Skincare is a minimalist, non-toxic, gender-neutral skincare line. We use only sustainably sourced USDA organic and luxe ingredients in our products.

I am known for my unique skincare regime. The theory behind JAX is simple. Oil cleans oil. Many of my clients come to me with a fear of oils to use on their skin. The truth is, it’s a myth that oil is the cause of breakouts. Yes, bad oils are. But good oils regulate oil production to trick the skin into making less oil. Oils are the best thing for any skin type. For example, my balance oil actually prevents breakouts. It’s jam-packed with antiseptic + astringent properties to keep the skin clean while also preventing blemishes without the need for a cleanser.

I am proud of the company for even existing. Most people don’t take a risk to follow their dreams and start there own company, nevermind at the age of 22. I look at it this way: work makes up about 80% of our lives, you have to love what you do. I put my heart and soul into this, so much so that I call it my first child. If it fails, at least I can say I tried.

I love the outside (packaging) and what is on the inside. I think it sets us apart from other brands. Inside it’s like a wonderful world of nature and botanical gardens, but the outside is super chic and modern. Something I thought people would love to keep on their bathroom shelf (even men), while still getting a high performing, safe product.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are planning to expand the line to new products. In the near future, a serum and exfoliator will come to life. I hope to wholesale to boutiques and salons around the country. I am looking forward to hearing more feedback from consumers!
