Meet Nara Paz of NARA PAZ DESIGN INTERNATIONALE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nara Paz.

Nara grew up in a poor village in southern Brazil and made her first dress, a red pinafore, using her grandmother’s foot-driven sewing machine when she was seven years old. She has long since emerged from those humble beginnings, first as a successful graphic designer in her home country, and then in 2007 moved to the USA to return to college to study fashion.

With cross-credits from an industrial design degree she studied in Brazil, Paz managed to complete the 4-Year Fashion Design & Production Course at Lasell College, Boston, MA, the USA in 2-1/2 years, graduating summa cum laude in 2009. Soon after in 2010, along with her husband, PAZ opened NARA PAZ DESIGN INTERNATIONALE, her design house and atelier.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been great… We worked really hard for the first 5 years of NARA PAZ DESIGN, we traveled overseas for Fashion Shows and Presentations, we did Trade Shows, we were in Paris, New York, New Zealand and Brazil.

In 2014 I had to rethink my life goals and my life clock was ticking and I wanted to have a baby so I decided that I wouldn’t go through this life without a child but it was a bit too late. I had to do 7 cycles of IVF and it was hard for me and my body so, after 6 cycles and no results, I kept positive I never gave up. I was really thought I was doing my hormones injections in the middle of Time Square in NYC, but everything worth doing, and at the end of my 7th cycle God blessed me with my beautiful girl Sophia-Jean who born in April 2015 you can see our journey on her page https://www.instagram.com/sophiajean_lifestyle. She was my last embryo, she is my miracle baby!

After having Sophia-Jean I decided to have a break to enjoy her first steps in this world she would be my only child. So I stop work totally in 2015 to 2017 and left to New Zealand and Brazil to spent time with relatives, be full-time mom and enjoy our Holidays houses for while and it was the best time of my life.

At the end of 2017, we come back to the USA and I had plans to go back to work but wasn’t sure when yet then my clientele knew I was back and they started to ask for dresses… and I said ok just one… I was busy being mom …then one more… And just like this, I was back working full time in my Atelier, without buzz, without any events, press or shows… just my talent… I couldn’t be happier. I was thinking that it would be harder to come back, after all, that time off and that people would forget me and my work and everything I did before having a baby, but they didn’t and here I am full time working mom…

Having normal struggles like any other mom out there, Sophia-Jean is at school now going to pre- K and my life changed forever but I never been happier. I couldn’t have done any of this without my husband help and support we share business and parenthood responsibilities’ and it is working well for us.
