Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol Gomes.
Carol, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Ana Carolina, everyone knows me as Caro. I was born in BH, Brazil. When I was in High school in Brazil, my cousin had her own beauty salon. I used help her on my days off. Since then I loved the beauty industry. After a few years, I had the opportunity to come to the U.S. I fell in love with the life here. I decided to definitely move to America.
After that, I started taking English classes to learn English. A few years went by, and I went to Brasil for vacation. I helped my cousin with a few weddings. When I came back I went straight to beauty school, because I realized that was my passion. Took 2 years of beauty school, got my license and I started working.
I started doing some friends wedding and posting it on Instagram. Next thing you know my summers were completely booked with weddings. In January the Raw comp. found me on Instagram and invited me to do a makeup show with them. I could show my makeup skills on stage with my models. That was such a great experience I loved every moment of that day.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road. Since it takes time to build a reputation and clientele, as of right now it’s a side job. Right now I am doing makeup for events and brides on the weekends. I am slowly building my clientele. I am so passionate about what I do and I work hard for it.

I am a certified hair stylist and Makeup artist. I do hairstyles (updos) and Makeup for special occasions. I provide on location hair and makeup services to you, wherever you need it.
