Today we’d like to introduce you to Preston Turk.
Preston, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We’re two guys from Boston that love everything about watches and have been fascinated by these tiny mechanical marvels that sit on your wrist since we were kids. As collectors and aficionados, we were inspired by our experiences with a wide variety of watches to develop something you can take pride in wearing each day: the Revolution “Diver”.
We wanted to create something that was not built from “off the shelf” parts like many others. So, we designed, tooled and manufactured every single part from scratch, except for the precision automatic movement. Every single aspect of the Revolution “Diver” has been refined by the opinions and experiences of many watch aficionados.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As with most ‘hardware’ based businesses, there are many struggles along the way. We have worked through design iterations, engineering revisions, finding the right right people to manufacture the parts themselves, prototyping and now, going to market. Each phase of the project brings challenges, but with them, the opportunity to learn and continuously improve!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Revolution Watch Co story. Tell us more about the business.
We manufacture watches at the intersection of high quality and value for your money. One of our most important core values is quality of manufacture, in that we personally work with our engineer and manufacturing associates to ensure our watches carry high tolerances and performance. Getting to work with the talented people in this project has been one of the most rewarding parts.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would consider myself fortunate to be in the position of developing this company, and exceptionally lucky to have met the people who have helped shape where we are today, be it friends, family, associates and other watch fans.
