Meet Elizabeth McLindon of Elizabeth McLindon Therapeutic Massage in North Shore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth McLindon.

Elizabeth, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Trained in 1993, I have practiced therapeutic massage in the Boston area since then in Boston, Cambridge, Arlington, and, since 1999, on Cape Ann. I was motivated to become a Massage Therapist after a serious car accident when, in combination with chiropractic care, therapeutic massage facilitated my pain relief and recovery. As a trained artist, I enjoyed working with my hands. Creating art is done primarily in isolation, while massage and bodywork is done one-on-one. I find that very enjoyable and the results rewarding.

My private practice in Gloucester serves the Cape Ann area, summer visitors, and day trippers. My primary focus is in injury recovery as well as deep relaxation and energy healing. I incorporate therapeutic techniques including myofascial release, trigger point, Swedish, craniosacral, qi gong, and Reiki (Master level.) I also do full sessions of facial toning massage (a deeply relaxing treatment of the face and neck with aroma therapeutic facial products, hot towels, and clinical applications, with visible results), Reiki and craniosacral therapies.

Has it been a smooth road?
I started my practice at 35 so, with the physical demands of the job, I needed to really learn and apply self-care in order to continue. Having this practice and experience gives me the tools to share with my clients in order to age with grace and maintain mobility and flexibility while minimizes aches and pains.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Elizabeth McLindon Therapeutic Massage – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Continuing education is not only a requirement of my professional affiliations. It is something that informs and refreshes my practice while ever growing my tool box. I approach treatments to complicated dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system as problem solving. The more tools I have, the more likely I can facilitate healing.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Boston is a very green city, and the Greater Boston area has so many parks and places to spend time outdoors. With the ocean at our doorstep and the mountains so accessible, what could be better?
