Jason, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Arrived in United States with $900 in 1999. Started working as a DJ in a strip club in San Francisco. Found the West Coast to be too tame so, headed East. Started a record label. Opened The Haven. Never looked back.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The Haven story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a Scottish bar/restaurant that is located in Jamaica Plain in Boston. The only Scottish establishment in Massachusetts offering a Scottish take on comfort food and the Gastro pub experience but with a down to earth and at the same time up scale feel. Specializing in Scotch and Scottish beers, The Haven offers over 30 single malts and 25 Scottish craft beers, music nights mingle with Burns suppers and special monthly whisky events featuring Laphroaig/Bruichladdich and also Belhaven Beer specials often. With a knowledgeable bar staff and friendly service, this is one of the best bars in town bar none.
