Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Lucas.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Becca. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was a competitive cheerleader for over 10 years and became an NFL cheerleader when I was 18! I always loved being in front of a crowd and encouraging people to accomplish their goals. My first barre instructing position was in 2011 and I have enjoyed teaching full time ever since. After instructing and managing multiple studios in and around Boston, I decided to open my own studio in Weston, MA!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A smooth road… absolutely not, but nothing worth while is ever easy! Some struggles (so far) have been learning the clientele. What kind of retail they like to wear, what music they like in class and what time they like to take class.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Barre & Anchor – what should we know?
Barre & Anchor offers barre and yoga classes, workshops and events. We also have a retail section with fun and trendy athletic wear. We offer a space where our clients can come in for a workout, chat with their friends and instructors and feel confident and at home in our studio!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My dedication to creating a space where women (and men) can increase their confidence and realize they can do anything they put their minds to has helped pave the way to success. Watching a client be able to do something they couldn’t do two weeks prior is an incredible experience to witness. Watching not only their bodies but how they feel about themselves change in a positive way is the most incredible feeling.
