Meet Tad Beuchert of EPiK Fitness in Danvers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tad Beuchert.

Tad, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I became a personal trainer in the beginning of the Summer of 2014, before heading back to Assumption College to play a graduate year on the football team. I was fortunate enough to split my time between studies and football working in a physical therapy office 4 days a week as a PT aide. It gave me a good look into the profession of helping people with all sorts of injuries and disabilities. On the other end, my football career took off and I decided to pursue my dream of kicking professionally. While training myself, I worked with numerous clients and athletes and luckily that allowed me some time to travel, train and explore the world of professional training and NFL combines.

In February of 2016, I was signed to a professional arena team, Colorado Crush and I spent the season living in Colorado finally living out the dream. As the season came to an end and my return home was coming up quick, I knew what I wanted to do when I got home. I wanted to create an elite training facility for all types of clients and athletes, like those I gained so much knowledge from, while on my own path over the time I was pursuing my own dream. The goal was to set up a place for success that anyone who trained there was in the best place to achieve their goals. Today, I have been fortunate enough to work with numerous one-on-one clients and athletes, run group classes, set up charity classes, work in the high school and college setting and run group athlete sessions. With all that has gone on, I look at being a trainer as being my passion but my clients and athletes goals are my job and I am lucky enough to say that, I love what I do and I am excited to learn, educate and help others achieve their goals in the best way possible.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing worth doing is ever easy and I truly embraced the challenges along the way. Building new relationships, establishing trust and most importantly believing in yourself are challenges, I have embraced and learned from in the past year and a half since opening. If you don’t look at hard times and struggles as opportunities then it is hard to overcome them and learn from them. Take it one day at a time, learn to be better than the day before and understand why you are doing it. I look at all the success my clients and athletes have and it motivates me to give my best everyday for them. I wouldn’t say I have one or two struggles that stick out, but the early mornings and late nights quickly made me realize why opening EPiK Fitness was worth it. I want to continue to show up for every training hour ready to challenge and motivate every person or group and I will continue to embrace every speed bump as an opportunity to challenge myself to become one of the best in the industry so that my clients receive the best training for years to come.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the EPiK Fitness story. Tell us more about the business.
EPiK Fitness is an elite performance facility that caters to athletes and clients looking to achieve new health, new lifestyle habits and continued success on and off the field of play. I specialize in working with adults to achieve new lifestyle habits to help make their goals attainable and sustainable over time. I also work with athletes of all sports and design strength and conditioning programs to help them achieve success on and off the field and most importantly staying injury free. I am most proud of being able to take each athlete and client and look at them as people first and communicate with them effectively to help them achieve their desired goals. I believe that the work ethic and the family feel you get when you come into EPiK Fitness is what sets us apart. I want everybody to feel they are in the best place to not only get a great workout, but leave feeling they are one step closer to changing their lives. I am lucky to have worked with athletes of 30+ colleges, high schools and middle schools and clients of various ages and fitness abilities. I feel the culture here is one of a family setting where everybody is conscious of each others goals and we push and motivate each other to be better everyday.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am lucky to have a family support system and beyond who has truly believed in me opening EPiK Fitness. For that, I am forever grateful and will continue to pour my heart into the place to provide the best for each person who comes through. Other than that, I don’t believe much in bad or good luck. I think that, when I am presented with a great opportunity, I aim to better myself for the position I am in and no matter the outcome, I will always strive to learn and better myself as a professional for the business and my clients. A lot of things seem to go our way and sometimes things don’t but if we dwell on it being “luck” we tend to fall back and wait on that next opportunity. I want to get out and show the community why this is such a special place to be for years to come and when people decide to come and try out training programs or group classes, I will give them the best version of me every time. I want to make sure that each person has a great experience at EPiK Fitness and I want to continue building lifelong relationships through good ethics and great customer service.
