Meet Pamela Amaral of Sacred Circles in Gloucester

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Amaral.

Pamela, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been a very spiritual person with a strong pull towards helping others . I was raised Catholic but never agreed with all the guilt and shame. In 2nd grade, a nun told us that even if we thought something bad, we would all go to hell. I figured I didn’t have a chance. Lol! At the age of 7, I knew that wasn’t the God I sought. I always made my connection through nature and the native American way of life.

My spiritual journey deepened about 8 years ago, when I lost 5 of my best friends over a short time span. With a heavy heart, I searched for a deeper understanding for life and connection to spirit. I kept hearing about a woman in Gloucester they called, “The Angel Lady”and decided to seek her out. I found out her real name was Francine Clausen and she was a psychic/medium who also worked with the Angels. By the way, SHE is an angel! I figured it couldn’t hurt and booked an appointment with her. I didn’t realize at the time, that this healing would totally change my path in life. It was so amazing to me that she could bring through my loved ones and I could communicate with them ! I could feel some of the grief lift out of me and I felt lighter. When I was getting ready to go, she said, ‘your grandmother said to throw away that vacuum cleaner in the back of your car’. I started rolling in laughter that I hadn’t felt in quite awhile. There was indeed a broken vacuum, looking for a shop to get fixed, in the back of my car. I was so impressed, I asked her if she ever taught classes. She did! She said she would send me the info on her next class and the 1st 10 people to sign up and pay would be who was meant to come. I received the forms, wrote a check and hand delivered it into her mailbox, without hesitation. I was one of the 10 blessed ones to get in with a long waiting list of people behind me. I had never been so sure of wanting to learn something in my life!

In my classes with Francine my third eye blew open, I started seeing amazing images of people’s loved ones in spirit and began listening to info they were sending me. It was crazy! To prove the continuity of life after death has got to be one of the best ways to help us heal and move through the grieving process. After that, I was like a maniac constantly saving money for my next class in something spiritual. I took classes in mediumship, dowsing, Shamanism, crystals, psychic work, Reiki and tarot, to name a few. Looking back, now I realized, God was preparing me for my next journey in life… my shop… Sacred Circles and everything I was learning was another tool for my toolbox.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think at the beginning the greatest obstacle was myself. I was such a wreck about wanting to learn everything so I could help others. Then a wise woman told me (Jenna Bernardi a.k.a. Jenna the Witch) that knowing a little about everything so that I can help people move in a direction for them, was more than enough. Now, I know, I will never know it all. The more I learn, the more I realize I have so much more to learn. Fortunately for me, I love learning new things and I can take classes right here!

I am very fortunate that so many great shops and healers have paved a path before me. I feel the timing is right too with so many people looking to connect to a higher power more than ever, to help us through this amazing shift that is happening in the world. Twenty years ago, opening a metaphysical shop in Gloucester may not have been as successful as it has been. There are still the people that are afraid to come in the shop. A lady stuck her head in one day and said, “I really want to come in but I’m Catholic”. She took off before she got a chance to see Archangel Michael, Jesus and Mary right by the door. For those people, I would just like to say my store is all about love, light and healing and you could not do what we do here if you did not have a divine connection to “God”. It also took time for people to discover we are here and to figure out people’s wants and needs and also to find the right people to work in the shop.

Fortunately for me, I have a partner in crime. My daughter, Tessah manages the store 3 days a week and is a wealth of information on Gods, Goddesses and crystals, among other things . She also sells her hand wrapped crystal jewelry. Each one a unique work of art, working with the energies of the stones. Tessah is also a fantasy illustrator whose eclectic knowledge of religion and folklore heavily influences her work. She sells prints of these works as well.

Terry Milton “The Stone Lady” has rocked the shop since its opening. Terry has been active in the Psychic field for 40+ years. She uses a variety of stones and crystals to attune to you with authentic clarity in an empowering psychic reading. Terry is one of the most kindest gentlest souls I have ever met. Children love listening to Terrys tales from the stones. She often does workshops on teachings from her wide variety of psychic tools of the trade. She is considering doing a palmistry course next which I am very excited about and will probably take, lol!

Jessica Lovett “The Fairy Lady” has been with me almost since the beginning. I met Jess in a Mediumship class and knew she was the “real deal”. Jessica is a seer likened to a Norse Volvo. In Shamanistic societies, the shaman is the intermediary between normal human beings and the spiritual world, where they receive their information. She loves to help guide people on their life paths. We often get stuck and need some insight on how to move forward on our journeys. Jessica gives 20-minute readings using Tarot Cards and her psychic abilities but also does Shamanic Reiki Journeys, although, each one is a unique experience depending on one’s needs they often can bring a person back to another life that has been somehow holding them back in this one. She does psychic surgeries, repairs energy grids, reiki and performs different types of healings. Jessica performs land and house clearings/blessings as well.

In the summer, I have more readers and many other wonderful healers and teachers at the shop throughout the year. Sometimes, you need a team to build your Dream and I am very fortunate to be blessed with so many helpers.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sacred Circles – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Here at Sacred Circles, I feel like a “bridge” that helps connect people to a higher power so that they can reconnect on their spiritual paths. Through life’s ups and downs we sometimes get thrown way off our true paths. When this happens people become anxiety ridden, depressed and sometimes feel like there is no light anymore in their life which can lead to a total breakdown in spirit. We sell items of many different metaphysical genres because people connect in different ways, it’s a personal journey, that has no right or wrong way and is never to be judged. Many times, people will come by just to relax, breathe in the scents of the blend of oils, sages and incense and just be one with peace. To many, it is a safe haven from the crazy energy of the outside world. We are always working on the energy of the store, people don’t realize how important that is.

We sell Christian, Pagan, Native American, Middle Eastern, Celtic, items just to name a few along with fairies, mermaids, runes, candles, oils smudges dream catchers, Oracle and tarot decks, books, crystals, journals, wire wrapped jewelry and much more.

I think I am most proud of the healing that takes place here. I have seen amazing transformations in people and have witnessed definite miracles. I love how people connect with each other in classes and workshops , where they find their “tribe” of others who think outside the box. People often come in saying, Can I ask you something, your gonna think I’m nuts or your not going to believe this and they know we can talk about it and they won’t be called crazy.

So much of the magic happens in our back room. The healers who work here work through love of their fellow beings ,not ego. That is the difference between receiving a reading from someone or getting a healing. When you do this work out of love that’s when you make a difference in someone’s life. They remember that feeling and depending on what they are going through, hopefully receive a sense of release and have a brighter outlook and often a new direction.

I love to remind people of how special they are and that we are all connected. I love to see the light of love sparkle in their eyes when they connect with something outside themselves of a higher energetic vibration.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
One never knows what the future will hold but I have learned to follow my joy. If you have a vision, then you decide it’s something you really want in your life then, believe it and you shall receive it. It doesn’t happen overnight but if you keep the faith, the universe will open up and put all the pieces together for you. As of right now, I am in the process of planning some exciting classes and workshops for the spring and we will continue our ongoing meditations, reiki and mediumship classes. We also have our 3rd year Anniversary party on Saturday, May 19th. So, save the date and come by for a free mini reading, raffles and refreshments!
