Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristine Jelstrup.
Kristine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been interested in the body’s natural ability to heal. I studied massage 18 years ago and did that work for a few years. It’s a wonderful profession but I wanted to help my clients on a deeper more profound level. Over the next few years I studied various forms of Applied Kinesiology; Koren Specific Technique, The Morphogenic Field Technique and Bio-Kinetics Health System. All these techniques shaped me into the therapist I am today. 5 years ago I opened my office in Central Square and every work day since then has been pure joy as I work to facilitate information from the body so I can figure out the root of the problem and find the solution!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Well, my business was very slow in the beginning but I kept at it and slowly over the next 4 years it grew to the level it is now which is a full and thriving practice.
Please tell us about Central Square Health and Wellness.
I practice Applied Kinesiology which means that I use muscle response testing to communicate with the nervous system. I am really good at getting to the root cause of someone’s health problems and finding their solutions. I am most proud of all the people I have been able to help. There are not many people in this area doing this kind of work and certainly no one who offers the healing package that I do, no one is trained in exactly the same techniques as I am.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Hmm, maybe I should have tried to do more workshops, more outreach to my community in the beginning. New health care practitioners call me all the time and come to my office to tell me about themselves and drop off information. I think that’s really smart, I should have done that too.
