Meet Mogi Zagd and Uyanga Oyun of Mogi’z Hair Salon & Art Gallery in Cambridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mogi Zagd and Uyanga Oyun.

Mogi’z passion has revolved around art and beauty since her childhood. Mogi’z roots are Mongolian, she comes from Mongolia’s majestic mountains and immense open plains. Mogi honed her craft as a stylist in Rockefeller Center, NYC and enjoyed prolonged periods working in both New Hampshire and Boston as well. She has participated and won the second runner up at the Imperia Hair Competition and raised nearly $150,000 for breast cancer awareness.

In addition, she has styled hair for a variety of different red carpet events including 2007 International Fashion runway show in NYC and the 2008 Emmy and Oscar awards. As her career developed, she chose to put her experience to the test, putting all of her focus into opening and running her very own hair salon business. As a result, Mogi’z Hair Salon & Art Gallery was born in the fall of October, 2009. The business began originally in Nashua New Hampshire, and this past June in the summer of 2017, Mogi’z opened up a second location, in Cambridge Massachusetts.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing worth doing is ever easy. Running a business is very difficult. There are many obstacles and challenges that you must face along the way. One can always learn from failure or strive in this process. Onward learning is important for employees at Mogi’z salon, and running a business forced us to adapt & evolve. Everything we do here at Mogi’z is about our clients. We take pride in our work.

At Mogi’z Salon, we approach the craft of hairstyling with passion and respect. We believe everyone is a work of art, and we will make your hair a masterpiece. We want to have a unique ambiance here at Mogi’z, which led us to create an art gallery that flows seamlessly with the space. Our collection of paintings and sculptures is both diverse and bold, the artists hail from all over the world. We have been fortunate enough over the past few years to create & establish our Mogi’z hair product line, our line adds more nourishment and conditioning elements for your hair.

One of our main goals here at Mogi’z is to invoke an introspective beautifying experience for our clientele. Many times, hair salons can be stressful and hectic, at Mogi’z, we focus on making the atmosphere within the salon relaxed and stress free. Our craft is an art. Mogi’z is a tranquil escape, we want you to feel beautiful every time!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, we see the beauty industry shifting into a more organic and healthy way of highlighting and coloring hair. We hope to see a further evolved coloring system, while using less harmful ingredients. We strive on educating our stylist about the current trends and advanced coloring processes. Our stylist has a keen eye, they stay up to date with the beauty industry and look out for the top coloring brands to use at Mogi’z.
