Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmy and Anya Prudente.
Jimmy and Anya, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Our story began back in 2009 before we were married and even before we graduated college. As we were in our senior year of college, a friend of ours was getting married and had asked us to “take a few photos”. Without hesitation, we said: “Yes”. And that yes started this journey. We will never forget the feeling of when we delivered her photos to her. Seeing happy tears running down her cheeks, in that moment we knew that we HAVE to do this. So here we are 8 years later, with a couple hundred wedding under our belt and couldn’t be happier in doing what we do!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. The first three years, were the hardest. That was the time we built the foundation for our business and to get our name out there. And trying to do that while the economy crashed and unemployment rates were at its highest was not the most perfect time. So, we rolled up our sleeves and did the hard work. With people around doubting us and questioning if this is a “real job”, we turned that negativity into the fuel that drove us forward. There will undoubtedly always hard times while trying to achieve something great. Don’t give up, and keep your eye on the prize!
Prudente Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a husband and wife wedding photography team. We specialize in wedding and engagement photography and capture the real happy. We are not afraid to get a little silly or sing in public if that gets us to those real smiles and real emotions.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
What are the proud moments? This is a tough one… We are of course proud that we have built this business and that we were named one of the top 20 wedding photographers in Boston. But we’re also proud that we’ve done it together as husband and wife, and that we continue to work together side by side, growing together as partners in business and partners in life.
