Meet Stephanie Morris and Stacey McDonald of Creative Arts Dance Academy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Morris and Stacey McDonald.

Stephanie and Stacey, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We both started dancing at a young age at the Donna Miceli Dance Center and then moved on to Dance Production under the direction of Denise Jordan and Sandi Duncan. We have had many extremely amazing and talented teachers along the way. We were very lucky to have the training and the support of all of them.

Owning a dance studio is something that Stephanie has always wanted. When the time was right we decided to do it together, since dance is such passion for both of us. We wanted to share our love and passion with our students and train them in a professional, supportive and fun environment. We really believe that we have created something special in our school.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Going after your dreams is never a smooth road. It took some time to find the right locations and then to turn it into a place that our students would love to come to. We try to offer something for everyone, and that can be challenging with so many different activities out there today.

Please tell us about Creative Arts Dance Academy.
We cater to all ages, from 6 months old through adults! We will instill an appreciation for the art of dance in a supportive and caring atmosphere for you and your child. We love all dancers, regardless of age and level of experience!

CADA offers classes in ballet/pointe, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical, contemporary, acro, hip hop, mommy and me.

I think what sets us apart is that we pride ourselves on using age appropriate costumes, choreography and music. In today’s world parents like knowing that we are instilling a positive image and good morals on their dancers. Our faculty knows every child is different, and we get to know each dancer and their families, so we are able to focus on the needs and learning style of each child, and know they are getting the best possible dance education from us.

What’s your favorite memory from childhood?
Growing up, our teachers have always told that dance is for everybody and to never stop taking classes. You are never too old or too young to begin dancing, It is a forever growing and expanding profession. There will always be something new to learn.
