Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Tsang.
Cynthia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in a very entrepreneurial family which fostered in me a strong sense of work ethic and willingness to take calculated risks. After college, even though I worked at an office, the pull of creating and building my own business never left me. My family had some experience in the beauty business and I noticed that personalized eyelash extensions were growing to be very popular with celebrities and taking off on the West Coast. It was still not very well known in Boston and I saw a business opportunity. I left my job and opened our first spa in 2010.
Since then, through hard work and an intense focus on hiring and training the best lash artists and providing a premium experience for our clients, our business has grown to (soon to be) three locations with over 20 staff members, serving thousands of loyal clients. Because of our dedication towards consistently providing a high-quality product and experience each and every time, we’ve won multiple Boston’s best lash spa awards.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been an incredible and rewarding journey building this business from the ground up. We provide a personalized service and our business depends on high-level execution by a well trained and experienced staff. We are constantly looking for ways to better recruit, train, and motivate our team.
Lash L’Amour – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Lash L’Amour specializes in eyelash extensions and eyebrow services. We are consistently recognized for providing a top-flight customer experience. I’m most proud of our loyal client base and the pride our team members bring to their craft. What sets us apart is that we understand that our clients expect consistent high-quality service down to the little details every time they walk through our door and we’re more than ready to meet that challenge head-on.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment is when I realized that Lash L’Amour had become a brand that our clients and prospective employees associate with consistently superior quality. As a result, we’ve become the employer of choice for many lash artists in the area. We’ve been able to expand that brand beyond our physical spas to include Lash L’Amour Learning, our instructional training subsidiary, and Lash L’Amour private label products.
