Meet Lindsay Dyan of Friends of Rosebud Dog Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Dyan.

Lindsay, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My name is Lindsay! I was born and raised in Boston, Mass. I got my Master’s Degree at Suffolk University and have been working in Marketing the past 7 years. In 2014, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where I created Friends of Rosebud. I started this because I was working from home, eyes on the computer all day, and desperately needed a change. This doggie operation started off as a fun side hustle turned into full a blown business employing several students as walkers. Now, I’m back in Boston, braving the elements, to hang with all your furry ones!

I’ve always done volunteer work for shelters and local animal organizations. I have a rescue pup of my own. Her name is (you guessed it!) Rosebud. She came to me from the Humane Society of Western Montana (it’s a long story). I had the pleasure of fostering her litter. This furchild is a major part of my family and I don’t know what I would do without her. Friends of Rosebud is also in the process of starting a volunteer-based rescue program! We are excited about what 2018 will bring!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a new business is terrifying! There is so much risk involved. It took about 4 months to get fully up and running. What kept me going was that I knew in my heart I was doing something great. I was awarded the opportunity to be outside, catch some sun, get exercise, meet my neighborhoods and learn more about my community, all while hanging out with dogs. It’s pretty awesome.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Friends of Rosebud Dog Services – what should we know?
Friends of Rosebud specializes in dog walks, playgroups, non-kennel boarding, and runs! We are known to be extremely reliable, trustworthy, loving, and fun. What sets us apart from others is our level of personal touch. You’ll never have random a walker that you don’t know entering your home. You’ll never see us with more than three dogs at a time. Any more than three dogs at a time is a stressful situation for all humans and dogs involved! We are also known for our dog runs! To keep in great shape, I personally LOVE running around the Charles River. I adore bringing a pup with a ton of energy with me!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I could not have successfully done this without the support of my family, friends, neighbors, and clients. And of course, all the dogs!

Highly recommended from someone who’s had experience with Lindsay and Rosebud. Do your pooch a big favor and let her/him share some time as a Friend of Rosebud.
