Meet Bryan Morrissey of LMHS, P.C.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Morrissey.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bryan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
LMHS, known first as Leone, Morrissey & Company, P.C. first opened its doors in October 1987 by founding partners and longtime friends Carl Leone and Bryan Morrissey. Two years later in 1989, partner, Bruce Henriksen joined the duo and the firm was renamed Leone, Morrissey & Henriksen, P.C.

In January 2000, we tragically lost a founding partner, Carl Leone to a motorcycle accident. Carl had a vibrant personality. He believed in a hard day’s work, took pride in his work product and genuinely cared for his clientele. Carl also understood the importance of work-life balance and knew how to have a great time and enjoy the little things in life. He will always be a significant part of this firm and strive to live and work by his example.

By October 1998, Bill Synan joined the firm and again was renamed Leone, Morrissey, Henriksen & Synan, P.C. As the firm continued to grow, in 2006 two additional partners, Kim Gagnon and Charlie Gubitose were named. The firm finally became LMHS, P.C. and Steve Sheehan was named our 6th partner in 2015.

Has it been a smooth road?
Our firm has been in business for 30 years now and we recently celebrated this humble achievement with our clients back in October. The road to 30 years, of course, has had its ups and downs. From losing one of our founding partners in 2000 and the recession around 2008/09, LMHS has certainly been faced with challenges along the way. Luckily, we have some great leaders, managers and staff people that continue to work hard even when times are tough.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the LMHS, P.C. story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a full service certified public accounting firm. We have two locations – Norwell, MA and our newest location in Needham, MA. We specialize in the construction industry mainly but we are also well versed in estate and trust work, high wealth clients, individual tax return preparation, international tax, bookkeeping, and more.

We are most proud of our loyal clients. They are the driving force behind everything that is LMHS. We are extremely grateful for their confidence and trust in our firm year after year.

What sets us apart from other firms is that we are an active group. Like Carl, we all believe in the work-life balance. giving more than is expected, and serving our communities. As a firm, we take time to regroup and get to know each other outside of the workplace. Whether it’s a pats game, volunteering at St. Francis House, or just an impromptu gathering for drinks after work, we truly enjoy our workplace. We feel, too, that this time allows to serve our clients better, improves our positivity and overall productivity.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
LMHS, P.C. most recently acquired the business assets of the firm Swartz, Polachek & Company, P.C. based in Needham, MA. This acquisition brings with it a host of new talent and gives our firm a better and stronger presence to expand our business west. The new location will be known as LMHS West. This a positive, HUGE, step ahead for our firm and we are excited to expand in another region other than the South Shore.
