Today we’d like to introduce you to Pavan Pabla.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Pavan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Started In my family’s restaurant and nightclub, bussing tables, promoting events, serving customers, assisting the kitchen, bartending, cleaning, pretty much any job a restaurant can offer. Which is very very fun and exciting because you get to learn first-hand. And learn the ins-outs of the business.
Eventually I assisted my father to open several restaurant projects at the time and slowly learning the process and eventually my brother/partner manraj and I started branching out, creating an umbrella brand of our own, called mantra entertainment group,
Currently we are Opening Three establishments which are targeted to open summer and Fall 2017 respectively; Mantra a lounge in Cambridge which will specialize in Indian small plates and cocktails, Boston’s first Indian food truck, and lastly our first out of state establishment which will be announced very soon
Has it been a smooth road? What have been some of the challenges?
To continue to learn at a younger age and implement simultaneously. But it’s much easier and fun since I have a great team/family as a support system.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mantra Entertainment Group & One World Cuisine story. Tell us more about the business.
At the moment we specialize in both fine and fast casual Indian restaurants. We are not your average Indian Establishments as we pride ourselves in presenting concepts that are one of a kind, and our primary when we go Into any venture is how we can be innovative. Whether that is by presenting hot stone cooking at mela, our restaurant in the south end or by incorporating an element of nightlife at our upcoming establishment MANTRA in Cambridge. And also to be “out of the box” interm of food, service, and atmosphere which is more important than ever before!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The restaurant and nightlife industry as a whole will continue to grow, Ethnic foods popularity and demand will continue to rise extremely!
Specifically in the Boston F&B market I believe it will become more and more tough to be a successful restaurant as there are more options for diners than ever before, we will continue doing unique concepts and backing it up quality day in and day out.
