Meet Andrea Chan of Andrea Chan Photography in Waltham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Chan.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My photography started out as a way to enjoy childhood and connect with my kids. I had a dream to create a magical and whimsical album for them to look back on when they got older. Growing up I had a pretty tough childhood and was on my own by 16 but I feel my creative imagination was born from it. My desire to create and capture memories of how I believe childhood should be, happy, free and magical. The true love of family glimpsed through my lens. And all moments in between. My children opened my eyes to my passion for photography and the happiness of my clients when they see their photographs feed my soul. I am continuously learning and being inspired by many talented photographers and digital artist.

Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part, it has been a pretty smooth road. I have been able to do what I love while staying at home and taking care of my 2 kids. I am always trying to continuously learn and get my creative juices flowing. The hardest part has been not allowing the photography/editing to interfere with my time with them.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Andrea Chan Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
As with building any business success makes you proud and in this past year, I have more than doubled my business by word of mouth alone which means my photographs are touching peoples hearts and that makes me really happy.  I specialize in creating whimsical and magical photographs and have a knack for capturing ordinary moments and turning them into magical memories.  I have an amazing ability to connect with children and it shows through the images I capture. Although my specialty is with children I love to capture all moments families, maternity, newborn, seniors and engagement.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love being from a melting pot of cultures. I hate the city traffic which is why I moved to southern NH
