Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki An-Levi.
Nikki, founder and head stylist of The Parlor Salon and Apothecary, is a renowned and respected hairstylist with over 22 years of leadership in the industry. Nikki’s extraordinary skill and trendsetting taste has made her a highly sought-after artist in New York where she has helped to realize the vision elite clientele, including some of the biggest names in fashion.
Born in Korea and raised in Seattle Washington, Nikki’s career began in 1988 when she was accepted to train and cut at the Gene Juarez Salon. It was there that Nikki began to cultivate her unique vision and deep connection with customers. Her work at the Gene Juarez earned her an artistic excellence award, voted on by the staff.
In 1997 Nikki joined the illustrious Bumble and Bumble Salon in New York City. Bumble and Bumble is an internationally renowned hair care company, known as a favorite of celebrities and the fashion world alike. In her years with Bumble, Nikki came to exemplify the company’s dedication to innovation, inspiration and education. Her innovative flare and expert skill made her more than one of the most in-demand stylists at the salon – she became a head stylist and part of the team responsible for the development of the prestigious Bumble and Bumble University.
Bumble and Bumble University focuses on developing the eye and mastery of timeless techniques, and helping each student approach hairdressing with confidence and absolute suitability for each and every client. As the Lead Educator, Nikki taught students who worked with models, giving them the opportunity to perfect techniques by customizing cuts, styles for individual features and hair textures. Soon Nikki began to travel the country, conducting seminars sharing her expertise with stylists all over the US. Nikki also created a curriculum portfolio of blow drying, styling, as well as education videos to visually teach.
In addition to her work in the development of the University, Nikki tested new products, styled hair for Bumble editorial and video shoots, and was part of the team that styled hair for New York, Milan, Paris Fashion Week, contributing to the vision for such shows as Giorgio Armani, Cynthia Rowley, Chado Ralph Rucci, Mascino, Chip and Chick, Valentino and many others.
Currently, Nikki presides over the newly opened Parlor Salon and Apothecary in Wellesley, Massachusetts. To Nikki, excellence in style and service is an ongoing commitment. With her own Salon, Nikki brings her expertise and experience to create a relaxing oasis for new clients, where they can enjoy a plethora of services ranging from artisanal cutting and color, massages, manicures and pedicures, The Parlor Salon and Apothecary is an exciting new opportunity for Nikki to share her creativity and unparalleled gift with new clients.
