Thomas Rothwell Spa has been building in my heart for years. Having been a licensed esthetician for 10 years and certified in lash extension application for over 6 years, I wanted to own and manage a spa since gaining my best-in-industry training and certifications. The perfect opportunity to open Thomas Rothwell presented itself earlier this year with a location next to my sister’s dance studio, Elite Academy of Dance in Shrewsbury, MA. I’m so pleased to have such a beautiful facility where members of the community can come to reconnect and recharge through quality care and services.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have so much passion and love for what I do that I think that overshadowed many of the typical stressors! However, like everyone else, I had to find the balance between work and life. Clients come to Thomas Rothwell Spa to find that connection and to feel good both inside and out. While I was going through the planning, build-out, and grand-opening process I had to remember to take time and focus on my wellness as well which so easily can become an afterthought in the speed of our daily lives. Still today with just the day-to-day operations and services of the spa I have to remember balance and to find time to take care of myself as well.

Thomas Rothwell Spa is proud to provide innovative and customized beauty treatments. We exclusively use Naturopathica products for all of our skin care services, a superlative line that uses proven botanicals and clean cosmeceuticals to strengthen and repair the skin delivering exceptional results. In addition, we offer a full suite of services including massages, spray tans, lash extensions, brow and lash tinting, hair removal, and makeup applications. Instead of specializing in just one service, I’m most proud of our full and expansive menu.
After many years of research and training, each and every service we provide has been designed to help our clients improve their daily lives. If I had to pick my favorite service to provide to clients, hands down it would be our Naturopathica Facials. Clients see immediate results and more importantly FEEL immediate results. They look great but they’ve also been able to take time to focus on relaxing which is so important. I’m proud of the fact that while our services are luxurious they don’t come with a luxury price tag. Anyone can come to Thomas Rothwell for a spa service whether it’s a facial, lash extensions, spray tan, or massage and leave feeling great both inside and out. That’s something that is important to me – ensuring everyone has access to quality and affordable spa services.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I was born and raised in New England and what I love most is that in just a short drive you can reach such an amazing variety of landscapes, activities, and cultures. You can be in Boston for an awesome dinner and concert (and cannoli) and the next day you can be on the beach relaxing in the sun. There are different people, places, and paces of life here and our communities have such a strong connection that makes you feel like home no matter where you are. If I had a magic wand to change one thing about our city? Traffic. Poof. Gone. I would love to get rid of traffic for all of us!
