Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Giarrusso.
Jessica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After working as a hair stylist for many years I decided I wanted to try something new. I have always loved animals and have a lot of experience with all types of animals. I wanted to work for myself but also do something I loved. I started this business and worked part time cutting hair for the first 4 years. Eventually, I had enough clients I was able to leave my job and do this full time.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was hard at first. At one point I was working 3 jobs, one over night taking care of dogs during the day and cutting hair either in the morning or evening. During this time I was also diagnosed with lupus. There were days I had a lot of pain, or no energy, but taking a day off wasn’t an option when I had no employees yet.
Please tell us about Freedom Pet Service.
Freedom Pet Service offers daily dog walking. Pet sitting including overnight care and dog waste removal services. We have a small staff of 3, 2 full time dog walkers and one over night employee. Our service area is Kington, Danville, Newton, Exeter NH and some surrounding areas.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would have done anything differently. I’m happy with the way things have gone and everything I have accomplished.
