Today we’d like to introduce you to Swan Thang.
Swan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My passion and love for beauty and customer service started when I was young. Sounds cliché but like fine wine, my love and passion has grown with age and the best has yet to come. I always had a knack and love for beauty, I was the person to go to when they needed help with makeup, nails, or hair for my friends and family. The customer service aspect started when I was handed the responsibility of running and operating a family owned dry clean business at the age of 18, definitely not every 18 year old girl’s dream role in life. I enticed the opportunity to learn and build a foundation for myself. I’ve learned that if life gave you lemons, you don’t complain for limes, you use it to make lemonade.
Although after just five years of the dry clean business, my family decided it was time to sell the business, I learned so much. I told my husband I had a dream that one day I wish I could deliver my passion for beauty to the world. My husband rhetorically asked me, “why not?!”. He supported me to combine my love and passion for beauty and customer service into what is now Sky Spa. We acknowledge the importance of a hygienic and worry free spa. We also realized there weren’t many salons that could deliver a sanitary environment with a unique modern style. Five years ago we stumbled upon this location and it was just like love at first site, a feeling that I just could not describe. I knew I wanted to deliver and start my journey here.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were a few bumps and hiccups along the way but through perseverance and past experiences, life is what you make of it, as long as the juice is worth the squeeze. Our architectural and construction process took 9 months to complete. I am pleased to have such strong team members.
Please tell us about Sky Spa.
We wanted to be an eco-friendly, hygienic and worry free spa. We opted out artificial nails, even though they were still in high demand, to pursue natural nail care. This also eliminates the harmful fumes that artificial nail gives off during the service. Sky Spa is the only place in area that offers Dazzle Dry product. Dazzle Dry is nontoxic and vegan product that dries rock hard in 5 minutes without a needed for UV lamp, with exceptional long chip free wear and it also removes like regular polish. Sky Spa offers herbal spas that use organic dry herbs, fragrant essential oils, unscented scrubs, mask, lotion, and massage oil. Or try our Tropical spa that uses aromatherapy, scents that change as the seasons change.
