Meet Carl Norloff and Paul Weiss of Rheebo in North Shore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carl Norloff and Paul Weiss.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Prior to forming Rheebo, I had technology leadership roles for some great companies including Walt Disney, Zone Labs, M&M Mars and recently Zone Labs. I met my Rheebo co-founder and CMO Paul Weiss when we worked together at S&H greenpoints, a digital incarnation of the iconic S&H Green Stamp company.

As the husband of a small business owner, I witnessed just how challenging it was for my wife to market her business. She didn’t have the time, budget, or expertise to successfully leverage existing marketing tools and she wasn’t alone. In fact, 76% of small business owners report facing marketing challenges. I knew there was a better, different way for businesses and non-profits to engage those that matter most.

I created Rheebo, a community focused social platform that enables a business to connect with non-profits and people by using simple, cost effective tools. When businesses, people and non-profits engage and collaborate in one place, amazing things happen!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Establishing a new brand and a new category certainly comes with some challenges. Since we are unique, we had to develop a way of educating our clients to explain the Rheebo community concept and its’ benefits. We ran a successful pilot program that enabled us to learn a lot and make the program more effective. We have now evolved the concept and supporting technology to support a roll-out which is very exciting!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Rheebo – what should we know?
We created Rheebo to benefit local communities by connecting business owners, customers and non-profit organizations. We help small business owners become more effective marketers at a lower cost while connecting them with their customers and helping their favorite non-profits.

It is our ability to positively impact local communities that I am most proud of. We help drive the passionate supporters of non-profit organizations to our Rheebo businesses which in turn donate a portion of their profits from special events. Together with our clients, we have helped schools, animal welfare groups and community arts organizations. We believe that Rheebo is unique in our ability to deliver outstanding benefits to our business partners as well as a source of donations for non-profits. Our business partners tell us that they love the fact that Rheebo is community focused.

With Rheebo, small businesses can lower their advertising & marketing costs, increase sales from current customers, connect with other Rheebo businesses to acquire new customers and help their favorite non-profits. With Rheebo, everybody in the community wins!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I give so much credit to small business owners who are in the trenches every day working hard to make their dream a reality. It’s no easy task and incredibly difficult. So they are the inspiration behind Rheebo and the reason why we have been so persistent when so many have said that a small business focus is a waste of time. Of course the support of family has been incredible.
