Meet John Tinios of Tinios Pro Hospitality Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Tinios.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a third generation restaurateur. I started with our Family owned business. I grew up in the hospitality, I went off to college to be a lawyer and ended up getting a job at a Hilton while attending the University of Arizona and ended up redirected my life back into hospitality. I came back to New Hampshire and attended UNH for Hospitality Management and was extremely fortunate to have great mentors in my life including my parents who opened up our first restaurant, The Galley Hatch, in 1970 which is still a local favorite today.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The journey of Hospitality is a labor of love. The sacrifices of time, energy, and financial investment are offset by the people that you meet and the lifelong relationships that you make. There’s an overwhelming satisfaction that I get from serving and hosting guests; some of whom have been dining with us for over 40 years!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Tinios Pro Hospitality Group – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am the sole owner of three of our restaurants, Galley Hatch, Grill 28 at Pease Golf Course and Tinos. My Partner and I own, Popovers on the Square and in 2013 opened up our second location in Epping NH. We specialize in food and hospitality. Each restaurant is known for something different! While Popovers’ is most known for our cafe style menu, bakery, and, of course, popovers Tinos is best known for Mediterranean steakhouse favorites. Throughout all of our restaurants, we strive for consistently excellent food and service. I am personally most proud of developing a culture of committed employees that enjoy our business and continue to carry out the mission my parents set forth over 45 years ago of high standards and consistency.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are always looking for opportunities to grow, both as individuals and as a company. Currently, we are investigating an additional location that would be something very different than what we have done in the past- which is always exciting.
