Today we’d like to introduce you to Calin Vasiliu.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I completed my General Surgery residency at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, MA. I went on to complete a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at TUFTS Medical Center in Boston, MA. Upon completing my specialty training, I joined a private practice in the Lowell area, performing vascular surgery at Lowell General Hospital.
I did practice vascular surgery mostly in the inpatient setting for a few years, but eventually, I started to find office-based procedures for varicose veins and venous insufficiency to be a lot more rewarding. Patients were happier with their outcomes, the procedures performed were shorter in duration and less uncomfortable to the patient and I could bring relief of pain and discomfort to the patient in a much shorter time. Therefore, I wanted to expand upon that aspect of my practice and focus more on outpatient surgery while phasing out some of the hospital-based procedures.
I opened an office practice geared towards the treatment of varicose vein problems, Westford Vein & Aesthetics, in 2014. We have since then steadily increased our annual procedure numbers tremendously. We have a whole team of healthcare professionals that is dedicated solely to the treatment of varicose vein and venous insufficiency. We have a fully accredited vascular ultrasound lab on the premises.
We pride on being a team of healthcare professionals that provide the best possible care to our patients, with the latest technology available and the least amount of discomfort to our patients. Patient satisfaction is of utmost importance to us. We also greatly enjoy our work and we have fun doing it. We are proud to say that we are directly involved in all aspects of care of our patients.
We have since 2015, obtained our certification as a fully accredited Vein Center. This indicates our commitment to bring the best of care to our patients while adhering to rigorous practice protocols, maintaining a close watch of our outcomes and patient satisfaction and constantly looking to improve upon our delivery of care to our patients.
As a natural progression towards a more outpatient-based practice, I started to become more interested in providing our patients with a diverse range of aesthetic enhancement procedures. We offer Botox injections, dermal fillers, a whole range of laser-based facial treatments for skin resurfacing, scar and color correction, laser-based non-invasive body contouring, laser hair removal and many others.
