Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Dominguez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jonathan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My father first started working in the granite countertop business since he first arrived to this country when he was 17. He was born in Mexico & like most people he came this country for a better life & to help his family. Fast forward to present day & my father is a proud citizen and small business owner. I first started working with him when I turned 21. I never envisioned myself working with my father. But throughout the years I learned a lot & now I help run the shop, take on clients and try my best to keep things in okay shape for my father.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely hasn’t. Growing up in a divorced home, Mom worked countless hours to help give us a roof over our heads. I lost a brother at the age of 17. I was 14 at the time. Those were some of the hardest years of my life. It wasn’t always easy but having some positive people in my life definitely helped shape me.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Country Granite – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our business specializes in Granite, Marble, Quartz countertops for kitchens & baths. We also install stone Jacuzzi surrounds, fireplaces & will soon be selling cabinets. My father has been in the industry for more than 30 years and know all the trade secrets. I think customer service is really important & attending to customers is key. I like to make things easy as possible for customers & keep them updated. People really appreciate when you reach out to them & update them on their current project. I am proud of what we have accomplished overall. It hasn’t been easy but we are making an effort and keep moving forward. I feel what sets us apart is our overall care for our work. We tend to each job personally from beginning to end & my father still installs every kitchen, insuring for a perfect job every time.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plan is to just keep moving forward & keep the same work ethic. I am also focusing on our online advertising more and communicating with local entrepreneurs. We look forward to completing our new show room located in the same building. Plan is to be completed by November. We will have cabinets and much more for sale also so keep posted!
