Today we’d like to introduce you to Gordon Upton.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Gordon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got started in international development by working at The World Bank after business school. I have developed a mature skill set and gained extensive international experience in project finance, infrastructure investment and transaction advisory as well as public private partnership contractual options.
The sectors in which I focus are agribusiness, harbor/port, healthcare, power generation, renewable and waste to energy, transport and urban services infrastructure development. My accomplishments encompass risk management and mitigation, infrastructure fund project management, capacity building and project cycle control.
I have worked in many geographies around the world.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been bumps in the road over time. Dealing with different cultures in different developing geographies can pose challenges of different sorts. The political, social and economic environments can be complicated and ever changing from one project engagement to the next.
In my experience, where I encounter considerable challenges, I see great opportunities.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Gordon Upton – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
