Meet Rhonda Livingston of Livingston Realty Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhonda Livingston.

Rhonda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a Realtor with a team of agents that work with me to assist people in being “ONE SOURCE FOR ALL YOUR REAL ESTATE NEEDS”.

As the child of a poor, single-parent renter home I was subjected to annual moves which meant new schools, new neighbors, and a lack of stability so home ownership means a lot to me. I had to drop out of high school to support my mother and sister but put myself through school nights for many years until I obtained my MBA in 2008.

During this time, I worked as an Accountant and worked my way up to the highest financial positions within other people’s companies and saw real estate as not only a great means of stability for my family but also a means of financial security so I proceeded to purchase (3) two-family investment properties within three years.

During the purchase of the investment properties I found that I was driving the process more than my agent and I decided to get my license so that I could be on the forefront of future investments and any future potential purchases & sales of my own home(s).

I very quickly realized that real estate was truly my passion and I was good at it…really good, so I left my six figure finance position and I am now assisting people on a daily basis find and secure the stability that means so much to me.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most of my struggles came long before I found my true passion but being a Realtor is a 24/7 job that has no guarantees of income so the biggest challenge was giving up a secure job with a six-figure salary and benefits.

It took me four years of working both jobs full-time positions before I convinced myself that I could actually get up and do something that I loved doing & in doing so I could help and also teach others: both of which have always been important to me. (I was also a part-time adjunct professor during this time, but that was solely for personal enrichment).

As with all real estate agents, we take an exam, get a license, and then desperately try to find a mentor ~ most other agents don’t want to help new agents become their competition so it’s not easy to learn the ropes on your own but I did and now I get to also help other agents too when they join my team.

I love doing what I do so much that it rubbed off on my son and son-in-law and now they too are agents so I am truly blessed to be able to also work with my family too.

Please tell us about Livingston Realty Group.
I am a real estate agent that is growing her own business; Livingston Realty Group, under the global umbrella of Keller Williams Realty.

We help people with any real estate related issues from buying, selling, renting, or investing.

As the lead agent of Livingston Realty Group, I am most proud of the fact that I am able to help other agents navigate to their own success and we all understand that while this transaction is a deal for us, it’s a huge deal for our clients and it will affect their futures and potentially the futures of generations.

Our philosophy of putting others needs before our own sets us apart from others and has enabled us to become: “ONE SOURCE FOR ALL YOUR REAL ESTATE NEEDS”

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
This is not an easy question for me because I did not have any easy childhood so there really are not many memories to choose from.

If I had to choose it would have been the moment when I knew in my heart that my Mother was wrong when she told me that I had a “beer pocket & champagne taste”.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest factors in me becoming who I am was to use my parents as examples of what I never wanted to be.
