Meet Lisa Cavarretta of Kids for Kids Tutoring in Watertown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Cavarretta.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a mother of two teens, one of whom has substantial learning disabilities, I have struggled “helping with homework” for years! After recently searching for a tutor for my 13-year-old son, I made an amazing discovery…Kids work better with kids!

We all know that children relate better to each other than to adults. Children often become anxious when working with a teacher or adult, and it has been proven that anxiety adversely affects learning.

Our company hires teens and college age students who not only excel academically, but also have a passion to teach and relate well to kids. Our tutors are well rounded in all subjects. We make sure to match each child with the right tutor for them.

Our company has created a place where you can find the academic support you need for your young learner, without the anxiety or high cost that comes with the average tutor.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Fortunately for us, there are not a lot of other businesses like us out there. We are quite unique! I guess the hardest part is getting the word out there. Our clients have been happy with our services, and we look forward to helping more students succeed!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Kids for Kids Tutoring – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are completely different from any other tutoring company in the area. Through our proprietary “Kids for Kids Tutor Match” system, we go to great lengths to match them with students based on personality, learning preferences, and academic strengths and weaknesses. After we have paired your child with one of our tutors, we will set an appointment so that they can meet each other before working together. If you are happy with your match, we will schedule the working sessions for dates and times that work best for you. The sessions can be weekly, twice a week, or as often as you need.

Watching these kids succeed has given me such joy! We are also able to offer tutoring at a lower rate than most companies in a more comfortable setting for kids. Our tutors grow as well from working with their matched student, and develop relationships with them. It is a win, win situation for both!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Right now our plans are to continue to grow in the Boston area. We are constantly looking for new tutors as well as students. Our company is young, and we look forward to a future of helping kids be successful. Our motto is “Kids Helping Kids Succeed!”
