Meet Dr. Judy McIntyre of Hopkinton Endodontics in Metrowest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Judy McIntyre.

Dr. McIntyre wanted to be a dentist ever since she was a young girl, having experienced dental trauma herself. After realizing her dream and completing dental school at Harvard, she continued her endodontics residency training at prestigious UNC where she performed cutting-edge treatment procedures, and also focused on traumatic dental injuries – their care, treatment and management.

She enjoys treating children as well as adults, and enjoys showing all patients that root canals aren’t anything like they expect. She hopes to change the world, “one root canal at a time!”

After having worked in many offices for the past decade, Dr. McIntyre offers endodontic (root canal) services now in her own office in Hopkinton. She hopes that anyone in dental discomfort or a toothache might realize that she can help!

Hopkinton Endodontics is committed to providing the highest standard of patient care in a calm, professional and caring environment.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My installation of dental equipment was quite a disaster and of course the learning curve of running a business is super steep!

Please tell us about Hopkinton Endodontics.
Hopkinton Endodontics is a dental specialty office, specializing in endodontics, which is root canal therapy. We are here for patients when their tooth hurts, aches, gets a traumatic dental injury, needs a root canal retreatment, root canal surgery and other very unique procedures such as decoronation, autotransplantation (of teeth) and root resorption treatment.

We enjoy treating children as well as adults – most endodontists usually only treat adults. Also, my training has allowed me to do unconventional therapy and treatment when indicated. Often times, a tooth can be hopeless to most therapies.

However, I enjoy the challenge and thinking “outside the box” regarding treatment. Sometimes, a tooth should NOT be extracted (pulled out), and in these cases, I will work with the patient and dentist to try to do everything we can to save the tooth.

Everyone in the office loves endodontics; we enjoy showing patients that root canals aren’t anything like they expect. Hopkinton Endodontics is committed to providing the highest standard of patient care in a calm, professional and caring environment. We are a small and quaint office and only treat one person at a time to give the highest quality, and personalized care.

We hope to change the world, “one root canal at a time!”

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
